Meet Mike and Michelle

Surely a wedding to remember!  A rainy two hour car ride later, we were in Rose City and the skies started to clear just enough to go outside for some amazing portraits.  Mike and Michelle were a joy to work with, making us feel so welcome.

Michelle really enjoyed the look of selective color in her photographs…

One of the best things I ever did was convert my old Nikon D1x to an infared camera…

We love working with the Humane Society of Genesee County.  At the Paws on Parade event held at Warwick Hills Golf Club this spring Barry and Dawn (Johnson) Miller had the winning bid on a portrait session for her dogs.  Molly, Lucy and newest member Jake, each dog has such a unique personality and as always gave us there biggest smiles.  Thank you Dawn and Barry for allowing us to capture your family of dogs.  The next event is the Ties and Tails Dinner at the Humane Society where you get to bring your dogs to a gourmet dinner.  We will be there taking pictures of dogs and their owners with a share donated to the work of the Humane Society.  Contact them at this link for more information.

We had the privilege of photographing Mic, a 6 year old retired racing greyhound.  Melissa Hough had the winning bid at the Paws on Parade for Mic to be the ambassador for the spring event for the Genesee County Humane Society  upcoming 2010 Paws on Parade event at Warwick Hill Golf Course.   He raced in West Virginia under the name “SNS Cowboy Up”.  He retired in August of 2007, and then went into a Prison Program called “Second Chance at Life”.  During his stay at the Coldwater Correctional Facility in Michigan, the prisoners taught him valuable skills like how to sit, stay, come, walk up and down stairs, and a host of other things.  He graduated from the program in December 2007 and was adopted by Melissa Hough of Lansing through the greyhound adoption group, “Greyhound Expressions”.  He still enjoys a good run in the backyard and at the dog park, but most of all, he likes to cuddle up with his mom (and 5 cats) on the couch in his “forever home”.  That’s why they call greyhounds the “45 MPH couch potatoes”.

We were so excited.  This has been a very special weekend.  My favorite Aunt made her bi-yearly trip from Betty and Girls1028-57-72Florida and stopped by our studio in Fenton.  Ad the same time our two granddaughters were visiting also.  What a fun time.  I am so glad we were able to take this great image for them to have the memory of their first meeting.
