We recently had the pleasure of photographing Miss Abby!
Abby was so much fun! She brought in her blanket so we played a couple games of Peek-a-boo as you can see! Her Grandmother wanted to get some surprise pictures for Abby’s Mom and Dad! What a great Valentines Day present! Great thinking Grandma!
We often hear the concern in parents’ voices when they talk about bringing their little ones to get professional portraits made. So here’s a few tips to help make your children’s portrait session stress-free for everyone!
First- Make sure you schedule the photo session either after nap time or long before nap time comes into play. Also, make sure their tummy is full. A well rested and feed child makes for a happier child.
Second- Come early! Let the child(ren) become familiar with the studio surroundings. If you know your child has a particularly hard time with new places, schedule a time to come in a couple days before the photo session. Let the child meet the photographer, and become familiar with the new place. This makes it easier on photo day because your child will be more comfortable in familiar surroundings with a photographer they have seen before. Even if you do come a couple days ahead, still come early on the day of the session.
Third- Bring a toy or blanket of theirs that makes them feel at home. Try to bring something that you wouldn’t mind having in the photograph as well, like their favorite stuffed animal or blanket. Often times these items will become a prop in the Photograph.
These are just a few tips to making you children portrait session be successful!
