Say Hello to Abby

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Miss Abby!

Abby was so much fun!  She brought in her blanket so we played a couple games of Peek-a-boo as you can see!  Her Grandmother wanted to get some surprise pictures for Abby’s Mom and Dad!  What a great Valentines Day present! Great thinking Grandma!

We often hear the concern in parents’ voices when they talk about bringing their little ones to get professional portraits made.  So here’s a few tips to help make your children’s portrait session stress-free for everyone!

First- Make sure you schedule the photo session either after nap time or long before nap time comes into play.  Also, make sure their tummy is full.  A well rested and feed child makes for a happier child.

Second- Come early!  Let the child(ren) become familiar with the studio surroundings.  If you know your child has a particularly hard time with new places, schedule a time to come in a couple days before the photo session.  Let the child meet the photographer, and become familiar with the new place.  This makes it easier on photo day because your child will be more comfortable in familiar surroundings with a photographer they have seen before.  Even if you do come a couple days ahead, still come early on the day of the session.

Third- Bring a toy or blanket of theirs that makes them feel at home.  Try to bring something that you wouldn’t mind having in the photograph as well, like their favorite stuffed animal or blanket.  Often times these items will become a prop in the Photograph.

These are just a few tips to making you children portrait session be successful!

1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Things You Must Know About Your Wedding Photographer.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , on January 31, 2010 by imagemakerx2

The 4th most important thing you must know is what does your photographer expect from you.

  • To be on time.  We discuss the timing with you when you hire us to photograph your wedding so that you will have an idea of how long parts of your day will take.  We also make you aware of the challenges that  brides come up against.  Then a 2 weeks before the wedding we will sit down with you and go over the timing that you have decided on for the day, that way everyone knows what to expect.
  • Communication with the family members.  For the day to progress smoothly we have found that  communication to the family as to whom, needs to be where, when, is the key to reducing stress.
  • Since most photographers are with you all day you will want to make sure that they are served dinner, so they do not have to leave to get something to eat.

The 3rd most important thing you must know about your photographer is that they love photographing weddings.  Do their albums tell a story of love and romance or is it just a documentation of  a wedding.

The 2nd most important thing you must know is that your photographer cares about you and wants you to have the most beautiful and romantic day of your  life.  Someone  who is dedicated to taking care of details, keep you on your schedule and lend an extra educated  hand when needed.

And the 1st most important thing you must know that you feel confident  that you have hired the best to take care of you, that they understand what you want and will help you throughout the day.

This is what Imaginique Studios is all about.  Helping you have the most beautiful day of your life.

The winner is Jessica Standen

On Sunday, January 24th Jessica Standen and Annette Perry were chosen as the two lucky brides to dive into 5 cakes made by the French Confection of Grand Blanc.  Their goal was to retrieve 2 of three rings baked into 3 of 5 cakes to win a wedding of a life time.  Watch in photos these “two ladies” go after the prize as Mandi Martin hosts the action from the sidelines and the front row of brides are covered with sheets to avoid the cake being torn apart..  Imaginique Studios was there to capture the moment and many of the details of the bridal show. Stay tuned for the dresses, the flowers, the cakes and the story of the bridal show in images.  Click on the icon in the upper right hand corner of the blog and become a subscriber, do not miss the updates and the last of the 10 most important things brides should know about a photographer.
